Many people have been waiting for this app to be released on the Android platform and now its finally here, better late than never, Fring has landed.

Fring is now available for your Motorola Droid, Fring gathers all your buddies from different IM clients and social networks and puts them into a single contact list. This makes it real easy to start a IM chat with a friend who might be using Yahoo, Google, MSN, AIM, Twitter or ICQ.

The app can also make free VoIP phone calls over Wi-Fi, GPRS, and 3G. The Android version works with Skype, MSN and GoogleTalk and via hundreds of SIP providers.

This version has some known issues which will be fixed in a updated version.

• GSM contacts do not appear in fring’s buddy list on the Motorola DROID device

Now that AT&T is suing Verizon Wireless over the ‘there’s a map for that’ ads, there’s no better time to release a new Motorola Droid commercial and it’s pretty cool ad that would appeal to the techie’s out there.

The ad features a squadron of Stealth Bombers dropping “Droid-cocoons” all across American soil and waters.

Motorola attacked first by releasing “iDon’t” ad and now an Apple fanboy fights back with “iDon’t Care”.

Verizon’s got an answer to AT&T’s iPhone and it’s the Motorola Droid which is coming out at the end of October.

The big red V released their first anti-iPhone campaign the other day, check out the video after the break. It’s a video that mocks everything that the iPhone can’t do.
