Are you cheap like me and don’t want to spend the extra $30 for the Motorola Droid Multimedia docking station. There’s an app for that, Dock Runner will trick the Droid into thinking its connected to the Dock. Get access to the Multimedia Dock features without forking out your hard earned cash for the hardware.
Important Note: To exit out of the Dock mode you need to select the Home screen, and then select the app Dock Runner again to get out.
For those DIY folks out there here’s a video from Engadget that shows how you can make your own Motorola Droid dock with a piece of cardboard and some magnets.
Download DockRunner for free from the Android Market.

That’s cool and all, but is there a way to prevent “Multimedia station” from starting when you drop it in the dock?
Interesting. Would never have been possible on that other smartphone.
This is a cool app, however, It would be nice to have a flip mode (180 degrees). Being that the charge port is located on the bottom. I can’t really prop phone up on nightstand.
What happened to this app? I upgraded to 2.2 on my MOTO Droid and the app started force closing. I uninstalled it wth the intent to reinstall and now I can’t find it in the Market Place…
I have the same question Vicki does — I’m hoping that re-posting the question might prompt someone who knows something to respond. It was a great app, and I’d love to have it on the 2.2 OS.
