Graffiti for Android – Trip down memory lane for long time Palm users

by DroidGeek on July 17, 2010

The classic Graffiti from the Palm OS is now available for Android. The app provides single-stroke handwriting recognition functionality including the original Graffiti strokes.

Remember to enable it from Android’s “Language and keyboard settings” menu.

Download Graffiti for Android for free from the Android Market.

This isn’t just a trip down memory lane. It’s a great way for us old Palm users to enter data quickly and accurately in an Android device. It works really well! The default onscreen keyboard is clunky and the predictive text is annoying and intrusive. Graffiti works perfectly for those familiar with it. So far, only Graffiti 1 has been implemented, and the slash cut/copy/paste commands don’t work, but this is still my fave input method if I’m not using the slide out keyboard.
