LauncherPro Beta – Speedy home replacement for the Droid

by DroidGeek on May 17, 2010

LauncherPro Beta is probably the fastest home replacement you can get right now from the Android Market. Home screen scrolling is smooth, app drawer comes with cool “fly in” effect and the screen previews are quick.

Features:

  • Smooth scrolling between home screens
  • Up to 7 home screens
  • Animated screen previews
  • App drawer with a fly-in effect
  • Shortcuts to phone, SMS, contacts and browser

Download LauncherPro Beta for free from the Android Market.

How come certain apps will work for me, (I can find them) and certain ones are unobtainable are they region specific? For example This one will not work. Whether I scan the QR code or go to the marketplace I can’t find/get it, but I’ve found and have installed the flikie wallpapers app that was suggested previously.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Mike. Thanks for joining the discussion. You have raised a lot of eyebrows around here, but fortunately, we’ve come up with a solution. Your phone is dehydrated. I know it sounds weird, but it’s true. Make sure you’re giving your phone 3-4 quarts of water or coconut juice each day, with an occaisional milkshake now and then to extend the battery life. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again for reaching out.

Thanks for the response Tyler… I figured instead of giving it water to drink, I could just bring it swimming with me. It seems tired after all that swimming and refuses to power on. I hold droid apps responsible.

I kid I kid, I answered my own question, I’m running 1.6 and the apps “I can’t find” are made for 2.0+. Maybe you guys should mention which version of Android the apps are meant for.. just a suggestion.
Thanks for taking the time to answer.

My girl friend just got an iPhone. But this app has made me fall in love all over again with my Droid! With 7 home screens you can finally have a widget wonderland!

The home replacements are acceptable; however, I have not found one that does not force close like crazy at some point..LauncherPro Beta works for me until I try to use more than 5 screens. I wish the stock system had at least 5 screens that would make life easier.

I think i found out how to change screen quantity.
When on the launcher home screen (for the Droid, sorry thats the phone I have) click on the menu button and click preferences.

This is FANTASTIC. I have had jealousy with the HTC Sense program because of the moto Droid’s stock 3 screens. Now, I LOVE the look and feel, and it takes up minimal memory. Whatever I lose is worth it.
