Motorola will be releasing a GSM version of the Droid cellphone over to Europe under a the name “Milestone” and will be available through carrier O2. Physically the Motorola Droid and the Motorola Milestone are identical.

Some of you may already know that the Motorola Droid Verizon is offering doesn’t support multi-touch and only recognizes single touch input. The GSM “MILESTONE” however does have the “pinch and zoom” feature. So why did Google leave this feature out on the Motorola Droid? Some people have speculated that Google wanted to avoid a patent dispute with Apple so they just left it out entirely.

Muitl-touch support on the Motorola “MILESTONE” can be seen around the 3 minute mark. We don’t lie, see for yourself.
