With the recent launch of the Motorola Droid, the people over at Qik has officially announced that the Qik app is available for download from the Android Marketplace and works on the Droid.

You can also get access to a private beta version of a high-resolution Qik client for the Droid which lets you capture DVD quality (720 x 480) video from the Droid. The Qik team also said they have revised the application’s UI to take advantage of the Droids screen.

The Qik Speed Sharing Ribbon will allow Droid users to easily share videos with contacts. With this ribbon you can create shortcuts to friends you wish to share videos quickly with just a tap on screen. You will also be able to record videos and share with people on your speed ribbon.

The hi-res Qik app is currently in private beta but you can request for yours here droidbeta@qik.com.
The non-hi-res Qik is available at the Android Market Place for free.

Here’s a video show off the DVD quality video taken for the Motorola Droid. Keep in mind this is a flash video so some quality will be loss due to compression.

How does a program increase the quality of the video? I can already take video at 720×480 with the stock Droid.

How do you send a video to someone from the droid without it saying that the file is to big? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Amanda
