Screebl – Control when your Droid screen goes off

by DroidGeek on March 7, 2010

If you walked up to me and told me that there’s an app that could keep your Android screen ON while saving battery power I would probably laugh in your face and maybe even spit on your shoes. But apparently the jokes on me because there is such an application that does just that and its called Screebl.

Screebl is an application that keeps the Droid screen ON based on the orientation of the phone. This means you can read long emails or long blog posts without the screen blanking out when you’re holding it in an upright position in front of your face. Customize how you want the app to recognize the orientation of the phone based on how you like to hold the phone.

So how does that save power on the phone? The short video below can explain this better than I can so check it out.

Video Demo:

Download Screebl Lite for free from the Android Market. Also check out the Pro version for $1.99.

I love this app. I spent some time reviewing it myself, and turned into a huge fan. It’s got its rough edges, but overall, one of the most solid utilities on the Android Market.

Does screebl have anything to do with screen not staying on when in a phone conversation?
