Shazam on Android

by DroidGeek on November 13, 2009

Don’t you hate it when you hear a song but can’t remember the name of it or who sings it. Now you have no excuses for not knowing because Shazam is an application that can identify songs for you, and once it does there’s an option to purchase the track through Amazon MP3.

Here’s a quick rundown on how the app works, there’s a song playing on the radio and you want to know who sings it, simply pull out your Droid phone, launch Shazam, press the “Tag Now” button and let the app do the rest.

Shazam App Features:

  • Identify music from any source such as the radio, TV, movies, or you can sing the song out loud and make a total fool of yourself
  • Get the songs from Amazon MP3
  • Watch related videos from Youtube
  • Connect directly to the artists MySpace page

Shazam for the Android platform can be downloaded for free from the Android Market.

When I’m tagging a song from Shazam it reads, “Sorry Shazam is currently offline.” What does this means?

Went through two Androids this month… neither will respond correctly… anyone else having that problem? I didn’t care so much when it was an occasional glitch with the Internet… but the new one stopped answering telephone calls! THAT I am ticked about.

When I go in the MARKET and search for Shazam it says “none found” Is there another name for it?
