I’m a bit of a weather freak, I constantly want to know what the temperature will be like the next hour and the hour after that so I can plan accordingly. With The Weather Channel app for Android phones can do that and more.
The Weather Channel App will give you the current temperature but it can do more than that.
- Save multiple weather locations to track, like some favorite cities
- Hourly, 36 hour, and 10 day forecasts
- local video and severe weather alerts
- maps that are interactive and customizable and works with Google Maps
- show different map layers such as radar, clouds, snowfall, UV index, rainfall
The Weather Channel app for Android can be download for free from the Android Market.

Press and hold the place you want to delete and a menu will pop up with options, one of which is delete.
Actually you have to click “Add a Place” first. Your saved locations will appear in a list. Then press and hold for the menu containing Delete will appear.
My droid has been searching for my town for the last ten minutes. Why can’t it find it and how do I get it stop searching?
How do I get rid of or minimize the icon that comes up
when I look at the map? The pin points to my location
but the icon attached to it covers up the radar when
you need it most during a storm?
Remove (or Delete) a Location is hard to find. It’s -not- intuitive that you press and hold a location to call up the “Delete Place” function.
PLEASE put “Delete Location” on the Options/Menu button, so a person can find it without having to search the I’net.
(May as well put “Nickname” and “Set as Home” on the same Options/Menu button.)
Is it possible to share the weather page on Facebook from the Android app? I can’t believe there isn’t a way, but I’ve been unable to find it.
I have turned off the weather alerts in the settings menu but I keep getting annoying alerts and noises. When are they going to fix this. I have sent them the problem thru the market several times.
On my Droid, none of the above solutions work to delete a city. Any ideas?
Once looking at a city, you have to escape out and you’ll get a list. This is where you hold the city and a menu will come up where you can nickname it, set as home or delete it.
Richard–if you are answering my question–it doesn’t work.
Frank, then uninstall app and reinstall, thats how it works for everyone else but you, before reinstall power down you phone for a minute or two and then reinstall see if that clears your problem
SMS data, fine grained GPS, and calendar data? Really? Why not just grab all my email from all my accounts while you’re at it.
Uninstalled. Was a cool app; is basically an advertising data feed with poorly utilized screen real estate now.
Please Please reply. I downloaded the weather channel app on my lap top, it has some mistakes in it, i cannot correct them, and it has slowed my computer to a crawl. I uninstalled it, and removed everything I could find. But I cannot get rid of it. I want it OUT of my computer complete.y. ASAP. It shows up on when I power up.
Please , how can I remove all of it for good??? Thanks…
Are you having trouble deleting a location on the weather app? Just go to locations, get list of locations, and hold down on the location you want, and it should come up with ‘delete place’.
