WaveSecure – Security for lost or stolen Droids

by DroidGeek on December 2, 2009

Our mobile phones have become very personal devices in our day to day lives, so losing your phone can be pretty scary. All your personal data, pictures, videos, and files are out in the open for some total stranger to see. “WaveSecure” was created just for this purpose.

I just downloaded this app and it says “Your buddies will be alerted by SMS when your phone is stolen and a new SIM is inserted.” The droid is on verizon and if I am not mistaken it does not use a SIM card. So how will the phone know if it is stolen?

Does WaveSecure Encrypt the data stored on the SIM card?

Jose, you are mistaken… the droid is an international phone and verizon provides its international phones with sim cards. however unless you are out of the country it doesnt matter or get used. i dont even think its removable…

Hi all,
We are happy that WaveSecure was one of the overall winners and the top productivity app in the recently concluded Android Developer Challenge 2 (ADC2)!

As a giveback to Android users support that made our ADC win possible, we are offering an unlimited free lifetime account for Android users. Just download WaveSecure from Android Market before 31st Jan 2010 and you will be able to enjoy a free WaveSecure account for as long as you use that Android device.

It’s our way of saying thank you. Do spread the word so other Android users can benefit from it too!

Lastly, it will be awesome if you can join us on our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/wavesecure .

Thanks,
cheewee

The Motorola Droid does NOT have a SIM card at all and isn’t enabled for international calling or the GSM network.

This app does not work on my droid! here’s how curent vershun works, since 4 weeks ago: lock d phone, after 15 minutes the phone “self unlocks” as if the phone does not have any installed lock utility is wavesecure Really installed? unless a bug is put out in next few days, this applicatn is a FRAUD!

I bought my son a Droid. Is there an app that allows me to track where he and his phone is from my PC as he travels.
