I got hooked on the Algadon game. You can play it from http://www.algadon.com (which is where I started), but since they released the Android app for it, I find myself playing quite frequently! No more wasted energy! :)

Virtual Bitchslap is a simple, fun app that hands out virtual “bitchslaps” to anyone you’d like, be it friends, co-workers, or just anyone that happens to be walking by at the moment. Virtual Bitchslap Pro adds fun phrases to compliment the following slaps, and also adds more hand graphics to choose from to properly express yourself in your slapping. Virtual Bitchslap, all the satisfaction without the unwanted palm pain.

I’m liking Searchify http://olilan.co.uk/searchify – it’s a bit like Firefox’s Ubiquity for the android search box. Does calculator, unit convertor, wikipedia search, translate etc. Very useful.

Why are there NO apps for education. My ipod has all kids of things for educational purposes, for the teacher as well as the student at all levels. I can’t get an iphone due to no service from At&T but would love some educational apps.

DroidGeek March 2, 2010 at 9:47 am

No Doodle Jump yet, but there’s Papi Jump and Abduction! World Attack. Both just as good Doodle Jump.

Ringdroid is very handy for quickly turning songs into ringtones.

Joe March 3, 2010 at 2:26 pm

Some new, some old. The more often we tell everyone, they may check them out! In no particular order:

Mabilo Ringtones
Useless Facts
Screebl
Free Dictionary
Droid Light
Car Mode
NewsRob (must have)
Daily Strip (comics)
SportsTap
Bar Control

Whoops – almost forgot the most important:

Advanced Task Killer

For me the best app is the shapewriter. it takes a little time to get used to it, but once you are into it you will be amazed how you lived without it till now

Does the droid have a virus protection app?

Matt Burkett March 10, 2010 at 12:44 am

Hey CD, I don’t think anyone has made one for the android system yet. Would be a fairly easy mod on the above software. Would just need to add the ability for it to set a lap point (gunshot) with the microphone and have it have a really loud beep. Would probably be way better than the version from SF that I have on the Iphone. Hope some one develops it. If there is a developer on here, I wouldn’t mind explaining and putting a couple of bucks towards the project.
Take care,
Matt

mike March 10, 2010 at 4:28 am

I heard they were gonna come out with a radio transmitter app to run on programs like Pandora radio. Has this cam out yet?

Brandon March 10, 2010 at 8:22 am

so i know on the Iphone there is an app that allows you to see the stars whatever way you point the phone and you can click on the constellations or planets and get info about them any chance there is something like that for the droid?

Mike March 10, 2010 at 12:42 pm

@Brandon Yes, it’s called Google Sky and it’s free. There is also another one called Celeste which isn’t free but is a little different.

dan560 March 10, 2010 at 4:38 pm

I was wondering if drois has an off road gps app. Like one that tells you where you are and have traveled. Maybe one that sets bookmarks like for a campsiteor somthing like that.

Tim March 10, 2010 at 10:27 pm

Can you zoom while in video camera mode?

rik March 11, 2010 at 7:55 am

Does the Droid have an app like “copytalk”? For a fee one can leve a VM that is transcribed into text for the receiver. I want to leave my appt activity for my assistant, then they can cut/paste it into a log. This costs 49.00 per month on the copytalk app.

Any help on this?
